Hi, my name is Tanna Strom and I am a therapist in private practice in Tulsa at about the 71st and Yale area of town. I am a Licensed Marital & Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor / Supervisor. In addition, I am a Registered Play Therapist / Supervisor and a Certified Child & Parenting Specialist.
Who I See
I specialize in working with children, families and couples. I also do individual work with all ages. I love working with the whole family but also know that some work is best done individually.
My Therapy Orientation
I see each individual, couple or family as unique. My approach is Integrated as I draw from different therapy orientations to offer my clients the best care. I utilize the following kinds of therapy: Relationship Based Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Expressive Therapies (play, art & sand therapies), Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Others.
I use what best fits for each client according to what they are comfortable with and what their specific goals are. For children considering their developmental level is a large consideration. I try to help clients find concrete, practical strategies to work with whatever issue they are working on, utilizing their strengths and setting a pace that fits best for them. It is a collaborative process.
Other Services
I also offer workshops and classes at my office and at churches, schools and for other kinds of groups. Observing children in their school setting is service that is available to parents who desire this. In addition, I supervise other professionals who are in process of obtaining their LPC license or their RPT registration.
